This screenshot is only a small section of the
entire spreadsheet. At the time I write this,
there are about 100 characters listed on there.
If you spot yourself and you see that your class
or status of main/alt is set incorrectly, please
don't worry - we will make sure your details are
correct before you do your first raid under this
system. As you can see, this is an example of
the GPS system for The Rift. There is a similar
spreadsheet for Helegrod, and of course there
will be more in place for future raids. It
is only an example... everyone will have their
points reset when the system goes live! (sorry!)
The 'Name' column shows all characters. If
you have a main and a number of alts, every
character has their own row. If one of your
characters isn't on there at all, it's only
because they are yet to take part in a raid.
The 'Class' column is just that - it shows
your class.
The 'Status' column shows whether the
character is a main or an alt. Of course,
everyone can only have one nominated main.
The 'No. of runs' column shows how many runs
you have participated in. This column is
automatically calculated.
The 'Total points earned' shows the sum total
of all the points you've ever earned (both spent
and unspent). This column is automatically
calculated.
The 'Total points spent' column shows the sum
total of all the points you've ever spent. This
column is automatically calculated.
The 'Points available' column shows exactly
how many points you have available to spend.
This column is automatically calculated.
The 'Position in loot list' column shows your
position in the loot order according to your
'points available'. Beware though, that mains
get priority over alts. This column is
automatically calculated.
The 'Priority looter' column basically
indicates whether your character is a main or
not. This column is automatically calculated. |
| Notes on the above
screenshot - It's a totally made-up
scenario, but the above screenshot shows that
everyone listed has taken part in 3 Rift runs.
As you can see, a lot of people have earned very
different numbers of points... in reality, you
can expect all members of a run to receive the
same amount of points as each other, unless of
course someone arrives late or leaves early.
Anyway, everyone earned some points on each of
the runs in this example, and 6 people took loot
on runs 1 and 2, and 7 people took loot on the
third run, including some alts (maybe the mains
didn't need the items).
Now lets say that the following people are
going in to the Rift on the same run as each
other on week 4....
Onji, Anyalou, Anduileth, Chrillric,
Thranthir, Irethedel, Bones, Diaboloss, Learned,
Tonydal, Allianne, Adedas
The loot order for this list would be....
Onji
Anyalou, Anduileth, Bones, Thranthir
Diaboloss
Irethedel
Learned
Tonydal
Allianne
Chrilric
Adedas
So Onji would get first refusal on the first
drop. If she takes it, she's put to the bottom
of the list for that run (she's not removed,
just in case so much loot drops that the 'one
item per lock' rule is overridden. If she
doesn't need it, she stays at the top of the
list. Let's say she takes it.
Anyalou, Anduileth, Bones and Thranthir are
all next on the list, and they all want the
item. They all have to do a /roll to see who
wins it as they all have equal points.
Thranthir wins and is now at the bottom of the
list. Anyalou, Anduileth and Bones stay
where they are.
This process continues until the raid is
over. Of course, everyone who took loot has
points deducted, but like everyone else, they
also earned points during that run too.
Note that at the start of the run, Allianne
had the same amount of points as Onji, but she
didn't get to /roll against Onji, because
Allianne is an alt. In fact, Allianne has
more points than everyone else above her in the
list, but they are all mains. Allianne will be
the first alt to get the chance to win loot
during this run.
